It’s usually not really Google calling your business!

Have you ever received a call from “Google” that you need to “Update your Google listing”? The truth here is that it is very likely that it is not Google calling, and almost always a scam.
Here are some tips:
- First, you should proceed with caution if you decide to speak with one of these representatives.
- Second, understand that rarely will Google call you, and if they do you are most likely currently spending money advertising with them.
- Finally, Google will never ask you for money, to sign up for a service, or give any personal information.

So why do we get calls such as this? Much like any type of spam call, these are simply salespeople trying to make a pitch or scam you by using scare tactics. It may sound something like this: “Your business is not showing up, and your listing will be removed if you do not update it”. This is false! Your business profile will not be removed randomly by Google.
